Wilcox Curriculum
The curriculum at Wilcox Schools is rich and integrated. From Early Years through to Secondary School, everything is designed to enrich the lives of our students. Our learning spaces are more than just classrooms and labs. Early Years
In the Early Years, play underpins all development and learning for young children; hence our focus is on providing opportunities for sensory exploration, outdoor play, and creative arts, as we believe that children learn best when they are engaged in hands-on experiences. This is in addition to the emphasis on literacy and numeracy, which provides a strong foundation for future learning. At Wilcox Schools, we value the importance of observation and assessment in understanding each child’s individual strengths and needs. We use a variety of assessment tools to monitor children’s progress and inform our teaching practices. Our teachers are skilled in using observation and assessment to plan for individualised learning experiences and to support children’s growth and development.

Athletics
Athletics have been a rich part of the Wilcox tradition since the institution’s earliest days. We believe that participation in athletics forms a vital part of the overall educational experience for all of its students.
Primary
In our primary school, the curriculum is designed to enrich the learning experiences of the pupils from Years 1 to 6. The programme we run, provides a rich classroom environment where children are encouraged to explore and challenged to learn, while making friends and developing self-confidence. They strengthen their cognitive skills with fun memory games in which they match objects that share similar characteristics. Since children learn best by doing, we provide opportunities for hands-on experiences
To ensure every day is a great day for your child, our caring, experienced teachers create activities that combine both learning and fun. Our curriculum is organised into theme-based units, beginning with topics most familiar to children. As children develop their skills and confidence, our teachers address more complex topics. These thematic units, prompt discussion about the world and do so in an enthusiastic environment. Each unit incorporates languages, mathematics, science, creative arts, music, motor skills and social development.
